Through the Pierott Tennis School, we’ve introduced many children to tennis, many of whom still play today and are thriving. In 2020, a four-year-old Emil joined the program in Prešov and quickly fell in love with tennis. Even at such a young age, he showed remarkable signs of talent and determination—something rarely seen in children so young. Emil has continued to pursue tennis even after the project ended, and today, at six years old, he remains dedicated to the sport.
A Hardworking Boy
Emil trains diligently three times a week at the Profitennis Academy in Prešov under the guidance of coaches Radka Rešovská and Tomáš Výrostek. His parents strive to provide him with individual training sessions, as they help Emil make the most progress. These one-on-one sessions are his favorite, as he receives the most attention from the coach and is able to focus and improve the most. Despite his young age, Emil has already participated in several competitions and earned a few awards, including two third-place finishes in the U8 category (a tournament for children under 8 in Prešov), third place at the regional children’s Davis Cup in Levoča, and the consolation prize winner at the national U8 competition in Banská Bystrica.
Emil is a sweet, smiling, and talkative boy with a love for life and a passion for sports. While he enjoys playing floorball and soccer from time to time, tennis is his true calling. He loves watching it on TV, knows successful players, and learns from them. His parents fully support him. As athletes themselves, they understand what conditions are ideal for their son to grow—both mentally and physically.
Since tennis is a financially demanding sport, at Pierott, we strive to support children who show a passion for it and have the potential to progress. That’s why we’re thrilled to support such a talented young tennis player like Emil, whether by purchasing new equipment or clothing. We will continue to map Emil’s talent, support him and keep our fingers crossed.
What Emil’s Parents Say About the Support
“We see noticeable progress in Emil every month, as the coaches continuously introduce new elements, exercises, and techniques. For instance, last month he was practicing figure-eights, which is a challenging drill, typically introduced around the age of 10. We want to participate in as many tournaments as possible and also travel to professional ATP tournaments so Emil can watch and observe the best players live. We’re very grateful to Pierott for their support, as children are constantly growing, and updating sports equipment is essential for quality performance.”
