A child who doesn’t long for an iPhone, Xbox, or the latest road bike. Can you imagine that? Our hearts tightened when we met Matúš and heard his wishes. Instead of typical gifts, he wished for “just” a simple tube of toothpaste, school supplies, and a building set…
Matúš’s story reached us through our Facebook page Pierott – Non-Profit Organization. A very kind and modest boy drew pictures of the gifts he dreamed of: school supplies, toothpaste, and LEGO. Matúš lives with his grandparents and his mother, who works hard to support the family on a single income, so they don’t have extra money, even though his mom would love to give him everything he desires.
This story moved us to action – we bought all the items Matúš had wished for, wrapped them nicely, and delivered them to his mother. The truth is, Matúš’s mom hesitated for a long time before responding to our offer. In today’s world, where there are so many stories about scams, we can’t blame her. But we are glad she eventually decided to accept, so we could give her son the gifts he longed for and bring joy to his heart. Matúš’s artistic talent not only brought happiness to him and his family but also to us, knowing we helped someone who truly needed it.
