The primary goal of this project was to get children outside, away from computers and televisions, even if just for a little while. We wanted to enable children from low-income families, who cannot afford sports equipment, to move and engage in sports.
Among those who actively supported us during the media campaign were actors from the Radošinské Naivné Divadlo, members of the Sedličan folk ensemble, and, last but not least, Rastislav Staňa, a Slovak ice hockey representative.
Through the media, we published a call for stories and suggestions from people who wanted to receive a football or volleyball. Subsequently, we handed out 200 high-quality branded balls to selected children.
In the second phase of the project, we organized two tournaments—football and volleyball. A total of 340 participants took part in these tournaments. The matches were officiated by professional referees. Each participant received warm meals and beverages. The best teams and players were awarded interesting prizes.
This project was made possible with the financial support of the Slovak Government Council for Crime Prevention.
