Families from socially disadvantaged backgrounds could look forward to food assistance for Christmas 2023, which we were able to provide thanks to METRANS and its kind-hearted employees. They sent us an incredible 46 boxes filled with all sorts of treats such as cookies, cakes, sweets, savory crackers, but also honey, tea, cocoa, flour, oil, milk, and more. They didn’t forget the little ones, for whom they included toys, board games, and books in the boxes, nor the mothers, who found cosmetics, books, or other small gifts.
The boxes were distributed across the east, where we delivered them to families in Krásna pri Hornáde, Kostoľany nad Hornádom, Košice, Prešov, and even sent some to Lazy pod Makytou. For example, we were able to bring joy to a family who, due to difficult life circumstances, had lost access to electricity and water; a family where two beautiful children tragically lost their mother and are now being raised by their aunt and grandmother; a family with four children and a fifth on the way; a family where a single mother is raising two lovely daughters; or a family where a devoted mother, Alena, is caring for a daughter with cancer and mental health issues.Krabičky putovali po celom východe, v rámci ktorého sme ich rozniesli rodinám do Krásnej pri Hornáde, Kostolian nad Hornádom, do Košíc, do Prešova a zasielali sme aj do Lazov pod Makytou. Potešili sme nimi napr. rodinu, ktorých ťažké životné skúšky pripravili o elektrinu a vodu; rodine, v ktorej dve krásne deti tragicky prišli o mamu a vyrastajú s tetou a babičkou; rodine, ktorá má 4 detičky a piate na ceste; rodine, v ktorej mamička sama vychováva dve krásne dievčatká alebo rodine, v ktorej sa obetavá mamina Alena stará o dcérku s onkologickou chorobou a psychickými problémami.
It was difficult to witness the stories of all these families, but it made us even more grateful to be able to brighten their pre-Christmas time with this small piece of help.
