The rehabilitation center Svetielko in Prešov once again helped Laurinka. Thanks to your support, we were able to provide her with another Therasuit rehabilitation stay, which uses a special space suit for treating children with neurological disorders. It is very important for Laura to attend this program every year, as her diagnosis (central tone and coordination disorder of medium severity) makes this rehabilitation highly beneficial, with immediate results.
Laurinka has been attending the Svetielko rehabilitation center since the age of two. Thanks to its location in Prešov, the family doesn’t have to travel far with Laurinka. She regularly exercises there and undergoes supportive therapies. The intensive Therasuit rehabilitation stay takes place once a year in the summer, with the program lasting two weeks, during which Laurinka exercises daily for 2.5 hours.
According to the doctors, the key element of this method is the strengthening program designed specifically for Laurinka’s individual needs, strengths, and weaknesses. Laurinka’s rehabilitation included warm wraps, neurostimulation massages, the Therasuit program (Pulley system, Spider system, Therasuit), muscle strengthening exercises, spine exercises, conditioning exercises, and balance training. This program allows the active use of all muscle groups to practice correct movements.
After the stay, Laurinka’s health condition immediately improved. Thanks to the qualified specialists, doctors, physiotherapists, to you, our supporters, but most of all to her devoted parents, Laurinka’s health, communication skills, endurance, and strength improve every year. However, it is also her courage, mental strength, and will to fight that push her forward and help her overcome all obstacles. Laurinka is a great inspiration to us, and we are happy to help her. We will continue to do so and hope that her condition will keep improving.
A message from her mother:
,,“Laurinka handled the whole program excellently. Thanks to the familiar environment and the kind physiotherapists, she looked forward to exercising every day. After the stay, both we and those around us, as well as the doctors, noticed an improvement in her walking. We are still attending Svetielko regularly (at least once a week), where she continues to exercise and undergo supportive therapies like speech therapy. In addition to her walking, her communication and vocabulary have also improved, so we are delighted with every small progress. Thank you for being part of our lives and for your support. Your help means so much to us, even though it may sound like a cliché. May God reward your every service and effort.”
