In 2022, Laurinka successfully underwent the TheraSuit rehabilitation stay, which she needs to attend at least once a year due to her diagnosis (central tone and coordination disorder of moderate severity). Laura stayed at the Svetielko rehabilitation and educational center for children, which focuses on children with severe disabilities and helps families cope with difficult life situations.
Intensive Program Helped
At the Svetielko center, Laurinka participated in a 2.5-hour intensive rehabilitation program five times a week for three weeks. Her therapy included warm wraps, neuro-stimulation massage, TheraSuit program, Giger MD, manual techniques to relieve tight muscles, various strengthening, conditioning, and balance exercises, and a suspension system to stimulate the vestibular apparatus and strengthen her back muscles. The therapy primarily aimed to improve her walking, which has been challenging for Laurinka. Both doctors and Laurinka’s parents noted significant improvement in her condition, which brings us immense joy.
We firmly believe that Laurinka’s health will continue to improve. She is a brave girl and a great fighter who deserves to enjoy life with all it offers and to embrace the gifts of life just like other children do.
Message from Her Parents:
“Laurinka successfully completed her rehabilitation stay. She enjoyed exercising and was happy. She was always praised for her efforts and skill. She did very well. We are convinced that this three-week intensive exercise has pushed Laura forward once again. She is bolder and more courageous in her independent walking. On vacation, she walked (with our help) around Velické Lake near the Sliezsky House and also around Vrbické Lake and along the paths to Chopok without once complaining about her legs hurting. We believe that every such exercise and rehabilitation helps her significantly, especially since she has hypotonia in all her limbs and regular rehabilitation is essential. We sincerely thank you for enabling Laurinka to participate in these rehabilitations and exercises regularly.”
