This year, Marko attended his rehabilitation at Axis Medical Center in Piešťany.
The center specializes in neuro-orthopedic rehabilitation for people with diseases of the central and peripheral nervous systems. Each year, Marko undergoes treatments such as physiotherapy, pragma therapy, warm wraps, massages, and much more.
Marko is a true fighter. Every one of these treatments is physically and mentally demanding. His perseverance, courage, and desire to feel better help him on his journey to becoming a real hero, year after year.
At Pierott, we are very grateful to have had the honor of meeting Marko. Each time we meet him, he shows us that he deserves our support and is determined to continue improving. This would not be possible without his amazing family, who stand by him and help him on his challenging path.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our supporters. Without your help, Marko would not be able to attend these stays. It’s a type of support that cannot be adequately expressed in words. THANK YOU.
A message from her mother:
Dear friends at Pierott,
Thank you so much, that after a year, mainly thanks to your help, we can once again take Marko for a stay at Axis Medical Center in Piešťany. There was certainly a lot to release, as he’s grown. But he still has that childlike joy when he succeeds and when he gets praised, and he still has the determination to achieve things (even though he was really scared on the pragma). Marko is 13 years old, and for 13 years, he’s been fighting for every movement and its improvement, because growing means changes in balance, with some muscles loosening more easily and others with more difficulty, leading to imbalances, twisting of the body, and uneven growth. That’s why we deeply appreciate your help and trust. Marko gave it his all during the exercises. As the physiotherapists said, he pushed himself as much as he could, so after the sessions, both Marko and the therapists were soaked in sweat. For example, climbing eight floors in a suit and back down, then doing 50 sit-ups and 30 squats, is no easy task. Likewise, during the spider exercise, where he was suspended in the air, he had to manage various bends, or the mentioned pragma, which focuses on balance – that was a real battle. Although he was secured by straps, standing and performing tasks on his left leg was extremely challenging for him. He appreciated the massage all the more.
Those six hours of exercise and supporting treatments had a significant impact and, most importantly, an effect. Marko will now grow well again this year, and at home, we will keep up the exercises to ensure his growth stays as balanced as possible. Once again, thank you so much for everything.
